A yogurt maker is ideal for preparing yogurts especially if your home does not have a place with a fairly constant and high enough temperature for yogurt making.
The yogurt maker provides a constant temperature throughout the fermentation process at approximately 42°C which is ideal for yogurt making to ensure optimal results. Each glass can hold what is an ideal portion size and is a convenient way to store the yogurt in the fridge. Just take one glass out at the time and enjoy!
You can buy extra glasses if needed.

1 Electrical yogurt maker 7 glass jars with lid with a 1,8 dl volume capacity. Additional glas jars can be purchased - click here. UsageYogurts can be made based on many different types of milk - full fat, skimmed or semi skimmed cows milk, even soy or coconut milk if you are intolerant to dairy. Choose the milk of your preference and add a chosen starter culture to the milk portion. Stir and dissolve well before you pour the milk into each of the 7 glass jars. Then place the glass jars in the yogurt maker, switch it on and the temperature will slowly rise to 42°C where fermentation accelerates. Fermentation is usually complete after 6-12 hours, gently take the glass jars out and place them in the fridge to let the yogurt mature for another 12 hours. Then it is ready! If you like, take out 1-2 table spoons of the freshly made yogurt and use it to culture your next batch of yogurt. This procedure of using fresh yogurt as starter culture can be repeated over and over again, sometimes for as many batches as equivalent to 50 - 100 liters yogurt. The same method can be used with any super market bought yogurt, just make sure it is completely fresh, has no additives, fruits, berries or flavours added. There is a vast variety of yogurts on the sheves, each of them with different combinations of bacterial culture, giving them their own unique flavouring and texture. It is entirely up to your preferences to find one you like for culturing your own yogurts at home. Use a couple of table spoons per 1 litres of milk. Please note: a 12 hour fermentation period applies when you use freeze dried starter culture with chilled milk. If you preheat the milk to 40°C prior to adding your starter culture, it will shorten fermentation time by 2-3 hours because the yogurt maker does not have to spend extra time heating the milk to the required 40°C. If you use fresh yogurt as starter culture you speed up fermentation time even further. Combining fresh yogurt starter culture and preheated milk, fermentation can be complete within as little as 4-6 hours - but don't forget to let it mature for a minimum of 12 hours in the refrigerator. FactsThe glass jars and lids are dishwasher safe. The dimensions in parentheses refer to the glass jars.
